The AK2 Drop Point Cerakote Edition is a fixed-blade knife for anyone looking for a light, unobtrusive yet hard-wearing EDC knife. These models are released only in small numbers and with changing coatings. The Cerakote coating gives a striking, technical look and additionally provides the surface with very good corrosion and chemical resistance.
Thanks to its compact, skeletonised construction, you can carry the AK2 as a neck knife or stow it discreetly in your trouser pocket. The drop-point blade has been one of the classics of the knife industry for years. Its popularity is no coincidence: the blade shape offers a robust tip, an easily controllable edge and excellent handling for many typical EDC tasks. Whether in everyday use, on the go or as a compact backup knife – the AK2 stays handy, hard-wearing and pleasantly unobtrusive.
The knife is made from a single piece of Böhler M390. This powder-metallurgical blade steel from Austria has long been established in the modern pocket knife segment. Its high chromium content makes it very rust-resistant, while M390 also offers very good edge retention. The skeletonised construction reduces the weight to a minimum without giving up the knife’s rugged character.
The AK2 was designed and developed by the young knife maker Alex Kremer. As the first knife series from Daily Knives produced entirely in-house, it stands for Made in Germany near Hamburg, precise manufacturing and a clear EDC focus.
