The AK2 is a compact fixed-blade knife for anyone looking for a light, discreet and easily controllable EDC knife. The drop-point blade has been a classic of the knife industry for years – and for good reason: it offers a robust tip, a versatile cutting geometry and is excellently suited to typical everyday tasks.
The AK2 is the first knife series from Daily Knives to come entirely from in-house production. It was designed and developed by the young knifemaker Alex Kremer. The knife is made in Germany near Hamburg. The construction is deliberately reduced: the AK2 is milled from a single piece of steel, and the skeletonised build keeps the weight to a minimum and ensures direct, precise handling. This lets you comfortably carry the knife as a neck knife or stow it discreetly in your pocket.
The AK2 is available in various steels and surfaces. CPM MagnaCut is a powder-metallurgical high-performance blade steel from Crucible Industries and combines high corrosion resistance with very good edge retention. Böhler M390 from Austria is also powder-metallurgical, a classic in the modern pocket-knife segment for years, and thanks to its high chromium content very rust-resistant with very good edge retention.
Both steels are available with a stonewashed finish. This is especially everyday-capable, as many signs of use blend inconspicuously into the surface structure.
The AK2 Drop Point is delivered including a matching Kydex sheath. Matching leather sheaths are available separately.
