FAQ – Answers to frequently asked questions

Here you'll find answers about ordering, shipping, returns, cancellation, assembly, care and our products – summarised concisely. If your question isn't covered or you have an individual request, feel free to use our contact form. We'll then get back to you as quickly as possible.

ORDERS & PAYMENT

You can pay with us by credit card or PayPal. Payment by bank transfer is also possible. Please contact us before your order via our contact form for this.

You can also place an order as a guest without creating an account. With an account, you'll also be able to view your previous orders and manage your information for future orders.

If you'd like to change a billing or delivery address after your order, please contact us as quickly as possible via the contact form. Depending on the order status, we may still be able to take the change into account. Once an order has already been packed or shipped, a subsequent change is generally no longer possible.

Shipping & Delivery

Within Germany, we can also deliver to parcel lockers via DHL. Please make sure to enter your parcel locker details correctly.

Delivery to PO boxes is unfortunately not possible.

Yes. As soon as your order has been shipped, you'll receive tracking information. You can find further information in our shipping terms.

Please first use the tracking to check the current status of your delivery. Especially during transport, the status may not change for a short while.

If nothing changes in the tracking over several days, or a specific problem is shown, please contact us via the contact form. As the sender, we take care of resolving the matter with the shipping provider.

Should a parcel be lost by the shipping provider, we'll check the case and replace the goods where possible. Our shipments are sent insured, so we can handle the resolution with the shipping provider.

We ship to many countries worldwide. Whether shipping to your country is currently possible will be shown at checkout.

Individual countries or regions may be temporarily excluded from shipping, for example due to legal or logistical restrictions.

For international orders, additional customs duties, taxes or import charges may apply depending on the destination country. Please find out about possible fees from your relevant customs authority before placing your order.

We do not pay any customs duties or import charges in advance. These costs are borne by the buyer.

Returns, Cancellation & Complaints

You can withdraw from your order within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving any reason. Simply write to us clearly by email or post that you'd like to withdraw from your order.

You can also use our withdrawal form for this. However, this is not mandatory.

Please notify us of your withdrawal before returning the item, so that we can match your return to your order. If possible, include a short note with your name and order number in the parcel.

As soon as your return has arrived and been checked by us, we'll refund the relevant amount via the original payment method. You'll find further details in our withdrawal notice.

You bear the direct costs of the return, unless it is a complaint due to an error on our part or damaged goods.

If you've received the wrong item or goods arrived damaged, please contact us via the contact form. Briefly describe the problem and, in the case of damaged goods, please add photos if possible.

We'll check the case and take care of a suitable solution. If a return is necessary, we'll provide you with a return label in this case.

Please pack the goods securely so that they are not damaged on the way back. We recommend sending your return insured and with tracking.

If possible, include a short note with your name and order number in the parcel, so we can clearly match the return to your order.

Please send your return to:

KURIOS Laserprodukt GmbH
Zürnweg 21
21217 Seevetal
Germany

As soon as your return has arrived and been checked by us, we'll refund the relevant amount via the original payment method.

The statutory warranty rights generally apply to products from our shop.

If, as part of our installation service, scales or other parts on products from other manufacturers are exchanged or altered, the respective manufacturer's warranty on the original product is voided as a result. This applies, for example, to SAKs from Victorinox or UKPKs from Spyderco.

Independently of this, the statutory warranty rights apply to the installation carried out by us as well as to the parts manufactured or supplied by us.

Drops, Availability & News

Some products have longer delivery times because they are only made, assembled or processed to order. This includes, for example, SAK installations, regrinds by Alex Kremer or certain products from cooperation partners such as dp_steelandleather.

The best way to stay informed about new products, drops, restocks, offers and news is to sign up for our newsletter.

We also share news about new products and current topics via our official social media channels @dailyknives.shop and @dailycustoms.shop .

SAK Scales

SAK stands for “Swiss Army Knife” and refers to Swiss Army Knife models from Victorinox.

Compatibility is always stated directly on the relevant product. Please check before purchasing whether the scales fit your knife or your model.

If you're unsure, feel free to contact us before ordering via the contact form.

If you'd like us to install your SAK scales, select the desired Victorinox knife in the SAK + Installation product.

Then add the matching DC SAK scales in 58 mm or 91 mm to the same basket. It's important that the knife and scales are compatible. You'll find the relevant compatibility in the scales' product description.

After your order, we'll take care of the installation for you and ship the fully installed SAK.

Yes, the scales can be fitted yourself. For SAK scales, we recommend gluing them with a suitable adhesive and using clamps so that even pressure is applied while curing.

You can also find suitable adhesive and clamps in our shop.

Alternatively, for selected products we also offer an installation service with a new Victorinox knife of your choice.

You'll find further information in our assembly instructions.

When using our adhesive, removal is generally possible, but requires care and a delicate touch.

It can help to gently warm the scales with a hairdryer or similar heat source so that the adhesive releases more easily. A thin blade can then, for example, be carefully slid between the scale and the aluminium liner of the SAK, and the scale gently levered off.

There is a risk of injury from the blade, tool or slipping parts. Scales or the knife may also be damaged. Removal is therefore at your own risk.

After removal, the scale and knife must be freed of adhesive residue before they can be glued again.

Among the 91 mm models, Compact, the Tinker series, Huntsman, Climber and Hiker are among the most popular models.

Among the 58 mm models, Rambler, Mini Champ and Classic SD are especially popular.

For fewer issues with hand luggage, the Jetsetter can be interesting, as it has no blade.

Depending on availability, these models can also be combined directly with our DC SAK scales in the installation service .

No. Our SAK scales do not fit the Alox or Evo series. The Alox models are built and riveted differently, while the Evo series has a different, curved shape.

Depending on the design and material, DC SAK scales are also available with tool slots. Whether a scale is designed for the corresponding tools is stated directly in the relevant product description.

Daily Knives

If you order a single AK blade together with matching individual scales, we'll assemble them directly for you. If no matching scales are ordered at the same time, we'll supply the parts separately.

Our individual AK blades always come with a set of standard screws included. This allows already-owned matching scales to be fitted to the blade.

Already-configured knives are supplied as described in the relevant product.

With a regrind, a standard blade is individually reworked by hand by knife maker Alexander Kremer.

Depending on the version, the blade is thinned down and/or given a new shape in the process. This makes a regrind more strongly shaped by craftsmanship than a regular standard blade.

Care & Use

Clean your blade after use of food residue, moisture or other residue. A knife should not be cleaned in the dishwasher and should not be left wet or damp for extended periods, for example in the kitchen sink.

After cleaning, the knife should be dried thoroughly. For care, it can help to lightly oil the blade occasionally - even if the knife is mainly collected or displayed.

You'll find more detailed guidance in our blog article on properly caring for knives.

Our AK knives can be taken apart for easier cleaning. If needed, also lightly oil the area under the scales to reduce the risk of moisture underneath the scales.

For pocket knives, you should additionally remove dirt, dust and lint from inside the knife. A drop of suitable care oil on the pivot can help keep the blade and tools moving smoothly.

When developing our knives, we follow the legal requirements applicable at the respective time of development.

Whether and how a knife may be carried or transported, however, depends on several factors - for example the specific product, the location, the occasion and the current legal situation. This may include, among others, the provisions of the German Weapons Act, in particular § 42a WaffG, as well as regulations on weapon-restricted zones.

Please therefore inform yourself independently about the regulations that apply to you. Our guidance does not replace legal advice.

Service & Special Requests

We currently don't offer gift vouchers on our website.

If you'd still like to give something from us as a gift, you can of course create your own voucher and accompany the recipient in choosing the product. Especially with scales, knives and accessories, it's often helpful to choose the right product together.

We don't currently offer our own re-sharpening service for knives.

However, there are specialised providers who offer such services, for example Altonaer Silberwerkstatt or Heinr. Böker Baumwerk GmbH Solingen.

No, we generally don't convert SAKs that customers already own or send in. Our installation service is only possible in combination with a new Victorinox knife selected from us.

If you'd like to fit the scales yourself, you'll find conversion instructions for this in our assembly guidance.

We generally offer our products exactly as shown on the website. Custom milling patterns, personalised laser engravings or individually converted SAKs are generally not feasible for single pieces. The effort involved would be very high for us and, as a result, correspondingly costly for you as a customer. If you're interested in a larger quantity of a product, feel free to contact us via our contact form.

Yes. For businesses, individual solutions are possible depending on the product, for example as high-quality promotional gifts or employee gifts.

You'll find further information on our page about promotional gifts and employee gifts.

We greatly appreciate the service of these professions. However, we don't currently offer separate discounts for individual persons or professional groups.

We share current offers and promotions via our newsletter.

Dealers, Trade Shows & Contact

We don't currently have our own shop or showroom. The best way to experience our products in person is at one of our retailers.

A selection of our products can be found, for example, at:

  • Altonaer Silberwerkstatt - Knife Lounge in Hamburg-Altona
  • Knife and Tools Experience Center in Apeldoorn
  • Heinr. Böker Baumwerk GmbH Solingen for AK1 and AK4

Please note that our retailers don't always carry the full range in store. For the complete selection, our online shop is the best place to go.

If you'd like to meet us in person and view selected products, you can also find us at various regional and international trade fairs.

The number of trade fairs where we exhibit can vary from year to year. New fairs are added, others fall away.

Current information about trade fair appearances can be found via our official channels, in particular our newsletter and our social media profiles.

Trade fairs where we've exhibited in the past include Knife Solingen, Blade Show Texas, Blade Show Atlanta, GDC Con and the Messermesse Schaafheim.

The best way to reach us is via the contact form on our website. This allows us to match your enquiry directly and process it as quickly as possible.
