The AK4 extends the AK range with another fixed-blade knife for hunting, outdoor, bushcraft and survival. It was designed by Alex Kremer, who translated his impressions of the wide landscapes of Scandinavia into a rugged, functional knife for nature lovers and hunters. The blades are made by Böker in Solingen – a tradition-rich German knife manufacturer with long experience in high-quality cutting tools. This gives you an outdoor knife built for demanding work that still clearly belongs to the design-oriented AK family.

The drop point blade is a long-standing classic of the knife industry – and for good reason. The shape offers a strong tip, good control and a versatile cutting geometry. When dressing small and large game, carving, cutting rope or doing general camp work, the AK4 shows exactly the strengths you expect from a reliable hunting knife. The high grind supports clean cuts, while the broad, full tang gives the knife the stability needed for harder tasks such as woodworking or batoning. The concealed lanyard hole also allows a discreet lanyard attachment.

The AK4 is made from a single continuous piece of steel. This makes it feel stable, direct and durable. At 20.0 cm total length and 9.8 cm blade length it remains easy to handle.

For the steel you can choose between Sandvik 14C28N and CPM 3V. Both are available in a stonewashed and a two-tone finish with a satin, brushed look. 14C28N is a modern, nitrogen-alloyed Swedish steel with good everyday usability and convincing cutting performance. CPM 3V is a particularly tough tool steel with very good edge retention and high resistance to fracture. However, it is not fully stainless. After contact with moisture, sweat or acids you should clean the blade and oil it lightly from time to time.

The stonewashed finish suits hard use well, because signs of wear are less noticeable and blend naturally into the surface over time. The two-tone finish, by contrast, looks more technical.

Matching scales are available separately. If you order them at the same time, we ship your knife ready-assembled.

Configure your AK4

The AK4 is based on a modular system. Choose steel, finish, scales, inlays and materials to match your setup. In the AK4 Configurator you can view different combinations directly on the knife and build your AK4 exactly the way you want.

Note:

With screwed scales, moisture can get between the tang and the scales. Fine rust in concealed spots is possible and does not affect the quality of the knife. A few drops of food-safe mineral oil help to prevent this.
