Understatement is a thing of the past: this AK1 blade in a reverse tanto design combines the pared-back, everyday-ready geometry of the AK1 with an exceptionally exclusive combination of material and finish. Made from Boomerang Damascus by Chad Nichols Damascus in the USA and refined with a high-quality fine gold coating, the result is a blade with impressive visual depth, an individual pattern and strong character.
The AK1 is the first knife series from Daily Knives and was designed and developed by the young knifemaker Alex Kremer. The knife is produced together with the Böker Manufaktur Solingen – accordingly, the AK1 stands for well-thought-out construction, clean workmanship and being Made in Germany. As a small, EDC-ready fixed-blade knife, it is ideal for anyone looking for a high-quality tool with a clear design language, collector's value and practical usability.
The reverse tanto blade offers a striking tip, stable line work and a modern silhouette. The tapered grind supports precise cutting performance and is a perfect match for the pared-back geometry of the AK1. Thanks to the Damascus steel, every blade develops its own pattern: flow, contrast and structure vary from piece to piece. This means you get no off-the-shelf knife, but a genuine custom knife with one-of-a-kind character.
A major advantage of the AK1 is its thorough customisability. Matching scales are available in a wide selection. If you order the blade and scales together, we will deliver your knife already assembled. The delivery also includes a set of gold-plated screws and bushings.
There are matching sheaths for the AK1 in Kydex and leather. In addition, the blade is equipped with our innovative Lanyard Tab. You can fit a lanyard to it or simply tuck the eyelet neatly into the end of the handle when not in use.
Note:
With screwed scales, moisture can get between the tang and the scales through use and hand perspiration. In isolated cases a fine layer of rust can form there, which is only visible after removing the scales and does not affect the quality or function of the knife. As a preventive measure, we recommend occasionally applying a few drops of food-safe mineral oil, for example Ballistol, to the tang. This keeps your personalised knife well cared for over the long term.
