The AK1 Nomad is a knife that doesn't need to shine to stand out. Natural Micarta scales, a vintage crosscut Micarta inlay, and the clean reverse-tanto blade in stonewashed MagnaCut give the knife a stripped-back, earthy look with a clear tool character. Visually, this configured AK1 sits somewhere between desert, countryside, and functional outdoor tool: warm natural tones, rugged materials, and clean lines make the Nomad an EDC knife that visibly develops patina and character over time.

The natural Micarta scales form the basis of the design. Micarta is grippy, durable, and develops an individual surface through use, skin contact, and exposure to the elements. Signs of use, slight color shifts, and its feel make every knife more personal over time. The vintage crosscut Micarta inlay reinforces this character with a subtle, handcrafted-looking accent.

The reverse-tanto blade in MagnaCut steel combines a distinctive geometry with strong everyday usability. The blade shape is precise, stable, and functional — ideal for typical EDC tasks where control, a rugged tip, and reliable cutting performance matter. MagnaCut stands for a strong combination of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance.

A precisely fitted Kydex sheath is included, holding the knife securely and underlining its practical EDC character. The lanyard tab adds a functional detail to the setup: it lets you attach a lanyard, and can be worn visibly or tucked discreetly into the handle when not needed.

The AK1 is made in collaboration with Alex Kremer and Böker Solingen, combining modern design, premium materials, and thoughtful function.

Notes:

With screwed-on scales, moisture from your hands can occasionally get between the tang and the scales. This can cause a light layer of rust to form in spots, which only becomes visible once the scales are removed. This doesn't affect the knife's quality or function. To help prevent it, we recommend occasionally treating the area with a few drops of food-safe mineral oil, such as Ballistol.

Our Micarta products ship untreated. For deeper colors, you can treat the surface with mineral oil. Micarta develops a natural patina with use. Because of the woven fabric used, every piece is unique; variations in color and texture are normal.
