The AK1 Drop Point is a compact blade for anyone who wants to build an unobtrusive, rugged and highly controllable fixed-blade knife. As part of the first knife series from Daily Knives, the AK1 stands for a deliberately pared-back concept: small enough for everyday use, yet stable and versatile enough for almost any typical cutting task. The drop-point blade has been one of the classics of the knife world for many years because it combines a robust tip, easy blade control and a versatile edge geometry. This makes the AK1 Drop Point blade particularly well suited as an everyday knife, for EDC setups and for anyone who values handiness, precision and reliability above all in a fixed-blade knife.

The AK1 was designed and developed by the young knife maker Alex Kremer and produced together with Böker Manufaktur Solingen. This gives you a Made in Germany knife that combines modern EDC ideas with clean manufacturing and a clear, functional design.

The AK1 Drop Point blade is available in various steels and finishes. The options are CPM MagnaCut and Böhler N690. MagnaCut is aimed at anyone looking for a particularly high-performance modern blade steel. These models are fitted with the innovative Lanyard Tab: you can attach a lanyard when needed but simply hide the eyelet in the end of the handle when it is not in use. This keeps the knife looking clean without having to do without this practical option.

The N690 models offer an attractive entry into the AK1 world and, thanks to the fixed lanyard tab, can be offered at a particularly budget-friendly price – still made in Germany.

For the finish, you can choose between StoneWashed and TwoTone. The Stonewashed finish is especially well suited to everyday use, as minor signs of wear blend in well visually thanks to the textured surface. The decorative TwoTone finish with a satin look appears somewhat more elegant and emphasises the lines of the blade more strongly.

A major advantage of the AK1 is its modular system. You choose the blade, finish and scales individually and can adapt your knife to your taste at any time later on. The scales can be removed effortlessly with a Torx key and swapped for other variants. If you order the blade and scales together, your knife will be delivered already assembled. Matching scales as well as Kydex or leather sheaths are available separately.

Please note:

On knives with screwed scales, contact with your hands can allow moisture to get between the tang and the scale. Over time, this can cause a fine layer of rust to form in concealed areas. This is usually only visible when the scales are removed and does not affect the quality or function of the knife.

For care, we recommend occasionally applying a few drops of food-safe mineral oil, such as Ballistol, to the tang. This reduces moisture at this point and keeps your AK1 in good condition in the long term.
